Air Cleaner Help

    Since I am putting headers on, I was wanting to change the air cleaner. The engine is a stock 250 with the 1 barrel. I went to the auto parts store and tried a 6" chrome but had to use an adaptor to clear the electric choke but it was too tall, no hood clearance. I then tried a 4" and again, no hood clearance. Is there anything aftermarket available?

    I bought a chrome air filter for an early Mustang. I had to open up the hole a good bit to fit the Carter RBS...and drill a hole and file openings for the ears on the bottom lid for the charcoal filter tube fitting.

    That is exactly what I am looking for. Can you tell me what year of Mustang the air cleaner was for?
