with all the time you've put into them im pretty sure you could have hand crafted your very own brand new set!

it appears that's what I will have when I'm done. I'm taking two pieces of cast iron and carving out a set of manifolds...:yup:
sad thing...Hooker makes a set like the ones I'm making..., just mine want have Hooker embossed on them.

that's unfortunate...everyone likes a pair of hookers... at least you did it yourself and you know the hard work you put into em. you will be extremely happy when she's all done. how much more work before coating time?

don't know...when I think I'm done with one, it looks better than the other one so I do a little more to it...then it looks better than...........:yup:
when I think I'm done with one, I glassbead it and any imperfections show up. I have glass beaded both 3 times so far. at least once more each then I will have them sandblasted with an industrial sandblaster. then glassbeaded to a finer texture before coating.
so far the tools I have used are...a torch for removing studs, porta band saw to cut mounting bosses for heat shields and trimming exhaust flanges, drill w/bit to redrill exhaust flange stud holes, 6" side grinder, air disk grinder w/36 grit sanding disk, DA sander w/80 grit paper, four flat files (course, med, fine), three rat tail files (different lengths), eight grinding stones (different shapes and textures), drill for stones, vice, glassbeader, gloves, glasses.
now to decide what finish/color to go with...:bouncy:
I have the manifolds for Collins car to do when I get done with mine...:yup:
may do a how to when done...
    back to the shop...:outtahere:

another 6 hrs, would have been more but the power went off and the fan in my shop stopped...:whew:

on a side note: outside temp 98 degrees, the power was off for 3 hrs.15 mins. with the R-50 I had blown in the attic the temp only went up 1 degree in the house, that wasn't enough to turn the A/C on when the power came back on...

Installed a new Street Demon carb

Replaced my 650 DP with a 625 Street Demon. Still some tuning to do tomorrow but with a quick trip around the block it seemed to have crisper throttle respnse than the DP.

Barry I know you've only owned that Maverick for a couple years, but how many different carburetors have you had on it?
