I found a green, metal tag attached to the valve body of my C4. Does anyone know what it is?

I'm not sure. I bought it in '91 and only put about 20,000 miles on it. I never rebuilt it but it's very clean for having almost 90,000 miles.

it should have had a plastic ball in it if it has never been opened.

I had it serviced when I bought it. There was no ball when I opened it.

Calibration/ID tag from factory, would be used by dealer to order VB parts or maybe a complete valvebody... Since it's still in place, trans has likely not been rebuilt(at least by the average independent)...

this is a tag that was on the same screw as the above green one. C4 was in a 1980 Granada, I250, from P&P, and was painted silver and very clean inside. Car had 140K so am guessing re-build. I dont have a clue what HO03 means......Any transmission gurus care to shed some light on it? I have no luck locating any info on the net.

Why's that? I would think a lot of guys would reinstall the tag after a rebuild. I put mine back in after the rebuild.....

If a shift kit was installed the tag would be meaningless.
