mustang trans cooler lines????

    couldn't find any 74 maverick trans lines and I bought a set new 71-73 stang c4 v8 lines. Anyone think its gonna work?

    Would think with a little tweeking it should work. After all, there is not much difference in the 2 set ups.

    I ended up going to autozone and picking up regular lines and bending them up. pretty easy. I have a rubber section right by the radiator.

    I just dropped 75 plus shipping on the ones that 71mavrk provided the link for... Stainless steel.... I gave it a thought using rubber hose but heard a lot of bad stories hows yours holding up

    Stainless steel is a very HARD line. You will probably need to tighten...then loosen.....then tighten.....then loosen several times to get them not to leak.

    good tip if it leaks when hot I bet itd be easier to snug down warmed up to huh

    The harder steel takes more to get it to "smush" and seal. LOL

    I have 5/16 hydraulic hose on mine...not a problem. I use their barbed shark bite style fittings (no clamps).
    my transmission cooler is mounted beside the gas tank (stock muffler place).

    only issue with all rubber lines is that they retain more heat than steel making trans run that much hotter

    mine is the opposite...I took the fan off my transmission cooler because the lines to and from the cooler acted as a heatsink and cooled the fluid ...:yup:
    I don't know if it's the material the hoses are made from or what.
    I thought the location of my cooler would be a problem is why I chose the one with a fan. after install I never used it.
