    Hi All,

I have a line on the Ford intermittent wiper module that I'm wanting to use on a 2 speed (boat) wiper motor that has only 3 wire lugs instead of the 4 that our Maverick wiper motors have. I believe the motor I (will soon) have has low-high-park terminals. Any ideas on wiring this up?

    TIA!

    Russ

Been awhile since I worked on the wiper wiring, but this is what remember.
The red wire is 12v to the motor.
The black wire is the circuit pathway ground that connects to the white wire to make it park.
When the switch is turned to low, white wire becomes the circuit and the black is separated from the white.
When the switch is turned to high, the blue wire becomes the circuit and the black is separated from the white.
When the switch is turned off, the black connects with the white to make it park.

    So it is red hot
    Black park
    White low
    Blue high

    Hope this helps

Man, that electrical is a PITA(for me anyway) I would MUCH rather get a maverick motor OR most any motor from a 70' and 80's ford, even the ranger motor would work, then you have all 4 wires and just plug and play. My 2 cents.

Thanks Eric! :D The '75 Cougar intermittent "kit" I have coming includes the switch, delay board, & harness. The power to my new motor comes through the switch, so it has no separate power lead, and the "working load" of 3.5A, shouldn't overload the switch. Don't know about the box though? I'll be VOM-ing the switch whenever it gets here. I got two online PDF's with crappy wiring diagrams to work from... How does one ground the switch? Besides having a 'glass dash, I'm pretty sure the delay box needs the switch to be grounded.

I'm pretty sure the unit grounds through being bolted to the firewall. The wiring all goes through the switch harness and each wire completes the designated circuit of low - high - park.

Found this wiring diagram on Autozone's site for a '73 setup, has all the wiring but the colors (could be me) are off a bit. The supposed BLK/RED on my harness appears to be all black, I'll VOM it and verify. Should be the easiest as it's for the pump motor. From what I see, the DK BLU/ORN goes straight thru bypassing the delay box and is likely the high speed wire. I have no idea on the two "switches" in the motor (park?) or the other two wires on the motor field (WHT & YEL/RED). I'm gonna play with it in a few, any help appreciated! My motor has ground, low, high, and park...

Which makes me wonder what exactly I have. The part number on the delay box is "D5OB 17C476- AA" followed by "260 4 L 11" and "8.7." in a circle. From my limited decoding experience, this is: D = 1970's; 5 = 1975; O = Torino (1969-76); B = Body and Electrical Product Division. Some pix here (for now). The PN on the switch looks like D2BB, which would indicate a '72 Bronco. All the diagrams I've found have either the wrong colored wires or too few wires. I VOM'ed the switch and got 11 different possible outcomes depending on switch position

Anybody got a rear-view pic of a Maverick wiper switch? I'm thinking whatever this is, it's not gonna be a simple swap...

    the 260 is probably the mfgr(Philco), 4L11 date, Nov 11 '74...

Dunno if it will help but here is interval wiper circuit for a '76 Pinto...

Well, it's got the correct number of wires, but all the wrong colors. If I only had a diagram... I did find the correct rear face diagram of the switch, in of all places, my own damned shop manual. This 5 book, 3" thick behemoth for '65 - '72 cars had about 3 pages on the wiper switch & motor, excluding any wiring diagrams! But I now have a pinout and continuity diagram for my "pin" style switch.
