I have them for my car. It's on a 17x8 with 4.5" back spacing. I don't have an engine in mine right now, so it might not be the best to go off of. At full lock they will hit the frame rail on the rear side of the tire. I might end up with a .25"spacer, but im waiting till I get the disc brakes on before I do anything.

BFG 245-50-14 on the front of one of mine right now. But they are old and can't get them any more. You can see it in my signature pic below. I am sure it's not close to what you wanted to see, but it's a 245 lol

235-45-17 on 4" BS. Real close to the lip. Got bad info on the BS. Wish I had gone with 4.5"

Hope that helps with your set up.

4-1/2 is gonna rub the inside. I had 235/60-14 on the front back in the early '90s with a 4.25" backspace & 14x7 wheel, and they would lightly rub the inside if I turned the steering wheel all the way to lock.

I have 245/40/17 on 17x8 wheels with 4.5" back spacing. I was thinking about changing to a 225/45/17 to hhopefully prevent rubbing. They would still be mounted to the 17x8's.

I could be wrong, but 17x8 seems pretty wide for a 225. While I think 225 is perfect for the front of Mavericks, you may want a 235/45 if you're gonna keep those wheels. I am hoping to eventually get some 225/45-17s for the front, but on a 17x7" wheel.

I firmly believe that anything taller than 25-1/2 inches is too tall for the front of a Maverick that doesn't have modified wheel arches like "GrabberGT" has done.

For the Potenza RE-11's a 225/45/17 should be mounted on a rim 7" to 8.5" wide. The exact width they recommend is 7.5".

Okay, so it's not too wide for the tire. 'Might as well give it a try.

I have 225 50 16 with an 8' wheel on the front of my car, I can't remember the backspacing...so this may not be of any help to you.
