On the TKO fit .. You will definitely have to perform some SURGERY on the Tunnel . We installed a TKO in a 74 COMET and we had to enlarge the opening, Add a little metal around the opening as well as re-brace the tunnel afterwards. Great Results though .. glad we made the mod. Cometized (Chip)
TKO is already in the car and has been for a few years. We did have to perform a little surgery to get it in.
Didn't realize you had already installed it . We installed 3/4" One Inch Square Tube bracings around the opening and it helped stiffen everything up . Kinda raises the floor doesn't it ? ha . Cometized (Chip)
I had cal tracs , locker and non sticky tires. my tires are my weakest link, I'm smoking on them all the time. I've had slicks on it at the track a time or two.
The 8 inch is marginal for 400 horsepower, but should hold up for quite a while if you don't abuse it. The 9 inch is bulletproof and is much easier to change ratios if you want to. I have a 9 inch Currie with big Torino drum brakes and it works great. Lee "THE MAV" Richart
