During the process of putting my instrument panel back together, I came across this bulb and socket. I cannot figure out what it plugs into. The car is a 1974 Grabber. The heater controls have their own built in bulbs and there are no open sockets on the speedo/gas gage pod, so I'm stumped.
My Comet has a pig tailed lead for alt warning lamp. What color are the wires? Every circuit is color coded. As black as that bulb is, it's absorbed a lot of dark...
Blue with red is a dash lamp, black is the ground. There should be a plug in bulb in the heater controls.
My heater controls have their own, built in bulbs. That's where I thought it must plug into as well. Problem is, I can't find a a place on the control to plug it in.
My heater control has one as well. The mystery bulb I am referring to is in addition to the one in the control.
That is the bulb that goes to the fiber optic wire that goes to illuminate your wiper switch bezel. Should be a socket on the end of that fiber optic that the lamp bulb socket snaps into
Finally, I get it. My car has been missing this part since I bought it. That wiper washer light never worked and I always assumed the bulb was burned out. I 'll have to pick one up somewhere. Thank you.
I have these two pics from a 73 LDO. In the first pick you can see where the bulb goes for the heater control. It is immediately to the left after you pull out the gage cluster and look in the void, The 2nd pic is the bulb pulled out of the holder.
