Steering Column Shifter

    73 Ford Maverick
    My shifter on my 73 Ford Maverick Won't stay in Park. When I go out in Public I have to chock the rear Tire to keep it from rolling away. What do I need to do to fix this issue. And the Steering Column Shifter is very loose or sloppy like the bushings are gone possibly.

    Check the pivot pin for the shift lever, it may have slipped down and is letting the lever move excessively.

    Okay where would the pivot pin be located is it in the column or is it under the car near the shifter on the transmission?

    1972 Maverick Grabber - Color: Orange Also, 1976 Ford Maverick 4-door, 1977 Mercury Comet 2-door.
    Check to make sure the "pin" is fully seated that holds the chrome handle onto the steering column.
