If you want to do short sections that are slip fit like that, you should probably only do the worst 2 pipes that way.
The other 2, will be plenty to hold it all together.
If you do all 4 pipes, you should probably make the slip joints at the collector and use slip tabs to hold them together.
My Dad's Supercomps on his SBC Monza (Vega) have 2 pipes welded up solid/standard to the collector and lower 4 pipes. The other 2 only go 3/4 way up with slip joints for the tops of the tubes to slide in. Works great. Gets the driver's side in with minimum cussing and gives passenger side access to the starter without removing the entire header.

75 - If you could take pictures and detailed notes that would make a great reference for us other Windsor owners  I can't say I have found a thorough "how to" thread on this combo.

I still haven't seen a Windsor success story on those Doug Thorley shorties.

Finding a local Mav/Comet with a 351w is proving to be quite difficult. I have to check these on the car, I cant just guess. The headers are in production right now (just got out of the bending dept.). When I recieve a set, I can send them to someone to verify the fit. This is a last resort, as I like to verify these kinds of things myself due to changes that may have to occur.

    Enjoy those hookers!(y)
