afternoon ray , hows it goin buddy havent seen you around in couple days, maybe you were on and didnt pay no attention
Scoop: If you want to do short sections that are slip fit like that, you should probably only do the worst 2 pipes that way. The other 2, will be plenty to hold it all together. If you do all 4 pipes, you should probably make the slip joints at the collector and use slip tabs to hold them together. My Dad's Supercomps on his SBC Monza (Vega) have 2 pipes welded up solid/standard to the collector and lower 4 pipes. The other 2 only go 3/4 way up with slip joints for the tops of the tubes to slide in. Works great. Gets the driver's side in with minimum cussing and gives passenger side access to the starter without removing the entire header.
Here is a thread of the 6208 header install wPics http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=3049&highlight=351
75 - If you could take pictures and detailed notes that would make a great reference for us other Windsor owners I can't say I have found a thorough "how to" thread on this combo. I still haven't seen a Windsor success story on those Doug Thorley shorties.
where are you at in maryland? yeah ill def take alot of pics , and some how to's im not sure yet on those doug thorleys , ive asked jamie(69 1/2) couple times he still hasent found out...he is the man to talk to about the doug thorleys, you putting a W in also?
Finding a local Mav/Comet with a 351w is proving to be quite difficult. I have to check these on the car, I cant just guess. The headers are in production right now (just got out of the bending dept.). When I recieve a set, I can send them to someone to verify the fit. This is a last resort, as I like to verify these kinds of things myself due to changes that may have to occur. Enjoy those hookers!
you can send them to me , i think they might hit the steering box but like ya said cant just guess, thats just from looking a 302 pics thanks jamie i sure will
I live in Lusby, MD (near Solomons Island). About 50 miles south east of DC. Yes I am putting a Windsor in.
