I may have some details wrong, again, I said it above. If you have doubts or questions, go to mustangsandmore.com and ask Moneymaker. Its his car and really all I've got to go on is his word.

For the record, it is possible to make 9000rpms with stock heads, but you won't be making much torque there.

Why build an engine that makes 400 hp at 9000 rpms when you can get the same power at 7500? (or less) THAT is the difference between the two. With a roller 302 you can get the same power at less rpms. And 7500 is not hard to do with a hyd roller. All you need is the right valve springs and ditch the factory lifters. Crane makes replacements that will handle 7500 rpms. They only cost $50 more.

    352?

A 352 is a FE series Engine. I never tried or even thought about putting one in a Maverick. I really don't think it would even fit between the shock towers without Cutting

Hooker and Hedman both made FE swap headers for Mavericks until recently.
I think they stopped making them because no one bothered with the swap.
I have seen some FE Mavs on eBay, but never seen that swap in person.
Wasn't popular... therefore the headers didn't sell.

    the 289/302 is 24 inches wide,.the 352 (f.e.) is 27".... the 351W is 25" ...and those can be tight.

might make for a few issues :D

    I don't remember exactly, but I want to say a Cleveland is 27" wide.

If you think about it, the Windsor still has room left on the sides because the headers need to go outward towards the towers.
A Cleveland, and pretty sure the FE, the exhaust exits point down. Meaning the engine can be wider and still fit.
If the Windsor was 27" wide, or the other engines exhaust exited the same way, then they surely would not fit between the towers.
My Cleveland was 27" wide (iirc) and used 2" primary headers...
The FE swap headers were available in several sizes, 1.875" to 2.125".
Only way that could be is if the exhaust exited Cleveland style.
