I am rebuilding my C-4 which sits behind a 1975 351w and was thinking of using the 40-2 Transgo Kit. Do you guys think this is a good kit to use? What shift kits are you guys using?

    Shift Kit

I don't remeber the part number of the Trans=-Go shift kit I used , But I had a Trans-Go in my 71 Comet Gt, 302 , C-4 . All I can say is , I thought it was Rock Solid!! It shifted so good and hard and firm! the Comet was stock ,except adual exhaust . I thought it realy woke the car up! Chirp all day from fist to second! Don,t hold this to me , but once I missed drive and went passed neutral to Reverse and I swear the shift kit acted like it was in neutral and saved me a lot of damage to the drive train. I think it is a great prouduct , and I say PUT it IN and HAVE FUN!!!!(y)

I put a B&M Transpak shift kit in my C-4 awhile back and it shifts great now compared to what it used to. (Still havent put that many miles on it but so far I'm pretty pleased) Just make sure that you have a good transmission to start with because if the trans has any issues a shift kit will only make it worse.

As long as the C4 is 70 or later the TransGo 40-2 kit is the best engineered product on the market. If you buy it from Broader performance you can get a few extra mods that make it even better (depending on your use).
