Aside from the normal spot by the fuel pump, is there any other good place to tap into the oil galleys for mechanical oil pressure gauge? Recommendations please. Thanks.
That's is the only one I know of, what I like to do is take a short piece of threaded pipe and screw it into the block, then get a brass T fitting and screw it onto the pipe nipple. Put the electric sending unit in one outlet and the mechanical in the other. Double protection in the drivers compartment. I have a large red light in the middle of my dash on the race car, and a oversize gauge in the panel. If I am fighting the wheel or running down an opponent and can't glance at the gauge, the red light will come on right in front of me in case of pressure loss. Just a suggestion from one who has done that and been there a few times.
That will work! I will probably just run the warning light and a small gauge. I want to clean up the engine compartment and I thought if I could run it from the back side of the block it would be one more thing out of the way. Thanks, appreciate it. JP
i was running something similar to old guy. now i'm just using the mechanical gauge but i got all the brass fittings at ace hardware. they seem to have a good variety.
I put the double setup on the Comet and I also left the electrical sending unit hooked to the temp light, never can be toooo careful when it's the wife's car.
