The specs on the Motorcraft FL300 says it doesn't have Relief or Anti-drainback values. The FL1A does. Is that a potnetial probelm if I use the FL300?
I ran the short Dodge filter in my 289-powered Pinto for years without problem. It's the only thing that fit.
Fram doesnt use cardboard. Its practically the same type of media used with purolator. Here a is cut open used 8A
I agree to run the bigger motorcraft filter , I suggest the motorcraft FL-1-HP same as the FL-1-A ,same size more filter. Hold each one you can tell the differance. Little more money, great Filter.
. stay with the fl-1-a or fl-1-hp cant beat the tried and true and stay away from fram whatever you do. i had one on a 302 ford , motor ran 21 pounds of pressure with it. thought maybe bearings going bad. i went back to fl-1a after an oil change and pressure went and has stayed at 58 to 65 pounds. my 2 cents
