I've ran into the problem of switching over of needing the center link, pitman arm,and idler cause it was different. no one could give me an answer to why the idler was different but it was.

The mav is gone but i'm still here!
which tie rods did you use? If you swapped it from a non disc brake car then the issue would have been that. You'd need to run the tie rods that fit the disc brake car.

factory disc on front; the problem came from the idler arm. the original had a stud at the end and a hole in the center link. the man center link had a stud instead of a hole. I called carquest and they had a idler for the car with a hole.:hmmm:

Can I reuse my power steering pitman arm with a manual center link? They both have the same part numbers.

Not if I remember correctly, the pitman arm bushing tapers are opposite. One attaches to the center link from the top, the other from the bottom. So you have to use a p/s pitman with a p/s center-link, and vice versa. Are you saying they have the same ford part numbers on them?

Manual and Pwr steering pitman arms are different...As mentioned above as well as the ratio/sweep on the pwr strg pitman is different and will not work with a manual center link.

You're looking at the GROUP number. The part number starts with a letter
