Turbo ???????

    Ok...... so i was going to put a 460 in my maverick but i decided to leave my 302 in and go with a turbo....... has anyone done this? if so where did you find room for an intercooler?

    Yeah...... its alot of work i'm really not wanting to do!!!! My buddy put a 390 in his comet so i know what he went through thats why i wanna go with a turbo..... but either way ill need to stuff a bunch of parts into a small area!!!

    Funny you should ask. I did it in 1978 on a pretty much stock motor in my 75 Comet GT then rebuilt it in 1980 from scratch. I progressed to the point of starting the motor but the car has sat in storage since then and I just got it out today to finish up after 30+ years. I kept all my info and have several books and magazines that I used for my project and would be happy to share anything that might be helpful to you. FWIW, I didn't see the need for an intercooler and didn't use one back then. I don't know if that was because it wasn't necessary or that I just didn't know better but I'd be interested to hear your thoughts.
