Let me know if you do. I'll buy one. They really are my favorite steering wheel. I like them better than all the aftermarket ones I have seen so far. I see them every once in a while at the junk yards around here. Maybe I'll pull some if I find em'.

That's all great info. thanks. I think I'll still bolt it up. Plowing my horn just makes everyone mad at me anyway.

The Pinto's with the Cruising Wagon package (like my 78) used them also.

Interesting that you can change them over, I will have to check that out

Thomas the steering wheel also will not lock when you remove the key as the holes around the outside is what a pin from the ignition cylinder goes into

Got any pictures? That would be cool if there was a way to convert them. They look to be all press molded together when they are made and it becomes one solid piece. How did you get it apart without destoying the wheel?

I did mine a few years back. before I knew about this website. So I didnt take any pictures. If you look on the shaft will see where the are kinda pinched on the shaft. I ground down the the pinched parts only. The every thing lifts right off. I did the same to both wheels. Then changed everything over then tack welded the plate back in place. That wheel is now on my daughtes car.
