The iron Sr heads are a sweet deal for a budget racer.....and are a good head regardless. Do some port work and they really shinei

Big F'ning deal. Look up "retro-fit hydraulic roller" sometime.

Look up civility some time. Is this really necessary? Where does this negative, condescending and caustic attitude you convey so consistently come from?

But back to the topic at hand, do you really think everything you listed, including those retrofit lifters, fits his stated budget?

And did he consider that the stroker crank will have to be balanced plus the Chinese cranks often have problems with bearing journals that are tapered or over-/under-sized. Can't just throw together a stroker kit, everything has to be checked and straightened out. IMO the AFR185s are just right for a 351 but too small for a stroker. The World SRs give a lot of room to work with for the money.

Always remember when ur on a budget. It cost more to buy stuff twice. If you buy gt40ps and go threw them you are spending at least 400 with a new set of springs. A new set of BETTER heads are not that much more. Save up a little more money and do it once.

Depends what T5 your talking about. There are different versions. My T5Z is rated at 330 lb-ft. You can put an Astro or Gforce kit in it and double the rating. On street tires you'll probably spin the tires before you hurt the trans.

I don't deal well with those so full of misinformation.

Then build a budget style shortblock but give it a good set of heads and decent camshaft. Don't scrimp on the parts that make power. GT40P heads on even a stock 351 will be a phenominal turd.

I'm not misinforming anybody. I knew about the retrofit roller lifters. Rollerizing the engine never entered my mind because I was paying attention when he said his budget is $2500.

I know I'm new here but that $2500 budget will go a LOT farther on a 347 than on a 351 of ANY stroke....even stock.

Really? Your 1 1/2" tubes are inadequate for a 302 with any decent camshaft. Spreading that style of misinformation bugs me. There are headers out there that fit and have good tube size. Just have to look for them.

    No it won't.
