Just went out and switched the voltage regulator for an old one that I have and the alternator light went out. I'll get a new one tomorrow. :)

Trailer secured for the week! Anyone have any tips on tying down the front of a stock Maverick? The rear is easy with the factory tie down plates still attached on my car.

I personally don't like to use the factory tie downs on the back of the car. Everytime the car bounces up and down....if fastened down using those, the car will actually be "loose" for a second. I like to tie down on parts of the car that are "unsprung" and do not move as the car bounces up and down. This would be the rear axle itself, and the lower control arms on the front of the car.

While what Craig has stated may be true I bet I have over 10,000 miles on Mavericks and Comets using the rear tie down brackets and never ever had an issue with straps coming loose, by the time I have them tightened down they are not going anywhere. I tie the front down using the cutouts that the torsion bars bolt to but I have ran into an issue with the metal tearing so will use a strap around the bar now

I always cross the straps to make an X as well, same with the front

I just recently added the tie down brackets I got from Yellow75 to my orange car. I use them all the time in my race car and trailer, along with 10K straps. I make sure the tranny is in neutral and cross the rear straps. Never had a problem so far. I put the tranny back into park after it is all cinched down. I have heavy duty eyehooks on the front of the race car. not sure what I'll do yet on the orange car. Guess I need to figure it out pretty fast as we are leaving next Friday.:)
