Here's a better look at late Pinto taillights as they came on a 1979 hatchback ...
another variation to look at .... unfortunately there is a topless girl in the way

Another shot of a 79 (and maybe 80?) Pinto

A google image search will turn up a lot of images for the 77-78 Pintos, too, but I had terrrible luck trying to post links to them.

Here we go ... an example of those middle year taillights ...

I got the 76 Pinto lights in yesterday. They are no thicker than the Maverick lamps. I may sell them or use them on another Maverick later. I like them but I'm not going to use them on my car. They actually appear to bolt up the same as the factory Maverick lamps, but the reverse lamp side is larger so the Maverick taillamp panel would have to be trimmed out some.

I pulled them from a 67 cougar. I unbolted the lenses from the the reflector section. I flattened the back of the light/drilled and tapped for new studs. The plan is to use an LED panel behind it.

Wow, those do look good. They play down the big bumper, too. Brings a much better scale between all the parts involved. They should have followed through on this. :thumbs2:

Probably didn't because they were pushing the Granada and wanted to phase out the Mavs. Give it new styling and that may have prolonged the process.

I built this tail light. This picture was done on the computer but I have the actual lens and bezel made and mounted on a modified tail light panel.
