What did you do to your Maverick or Comet today

Those are maybe exactly the ones 7D2 Grabber has on his Comet................Looks really nice.....IMHO

had a new set of tires installed on the back of Patches...

the ones I took off are new...I just had them put on...

 

Got front shocks/balljoints on the Maverick the other day. Running to autozone in the morning to get a new tie rod end ordered for the drivers side. might try my luck at getting the rear shocks off, was having issues and called it a day last time I was out there.

Any tips for getting the rear shocks off? I have the top nut off, and the bottom is loose but the entire shock turns when trying to twist the nut off. tried holding the shock with a pipe wrench but was also exhausted and way past calling it a day at that point!

 

doesn't the shaft have a...hex head...on the end of it to hold with a wrench?

 

Hold the body of the shock with a pipe wrench or a strap wrench.

 

I think it's a rectangle head. I use PB Blaster and vice-grips.

 

Can you get a impact gun in there?

 

Never though about an impact gun, there should be enough room to get one on the bottom. I'll probably use the pipe wrench, that's what I was doing but i barely got it in there and decided to give it break and go home for a day. had an interview the next morning! going to get my tie rod end now, and maybe heater motor and fan. might make it out there between studying for a little bit and get those rear shocks off.

 

impact works great for taking the lower nuts off the shocks. ive had to use a sawzall on some before.

 

Towed it home after it was wrecked.
