what flywheel to use

    scuze me ,bought flex plate :) and i trashed the 250 one when i took it out.stupid me didn't realize it could be used with the v-8 junked the 250 cause there was 3 HUGE holes in the block where the guy rapped it out so tight he blew the back two pistons and rods thru the side of the block. then lately found out guys are looking for the manifold that was in great shape.oh well

    The 250 flexplate is zero balance, can't be used with a 289/302...

    Chances are you need a 28oz/in, 157 tooth flexplate here. There's a lesser chance you'll need a 28 oz/in 164 tooth flexplate, it all depends on the bellhousing on the transmission.

    I just edited my last post so it's not confusing things. If you're using a trans from a 250 and installing a 1977 302 all you need is a 157 tooth flywheel with 28oz imbalance.

    i have and 85 302 engine im building and im going to use the trans of my 250 i6 can i use the flywheel on that or do i need a dif one sense its an 85 block

    1972 Maverick 2 door.Original V-8 3 spd std shift.Also a 72 one owner Sprint sporting a 351 Windsor
    You will need a 50 Oz imbalance flex plate...
