not sure what carb you have but if it's a Edelbrock (carter) I,d throw it in the trash, when they work good there ok when they fail it's hard to...

IDK for sure on this but like i said before you should use the convertor that came with the trans or buy a new one for your trans! used convertor...
you obviously messed somthing up when you were monkying with the linkage you probly unhooked the valve that is hooked to the parking paw so it is...
he said he manually put it in neutral under the car
sounds like you need to go to a quality auto repair shop and have them lift it and look at it for you and let you know what it is since your not...
if it won't roll in neutral/eng. off then you either have somthing locked up in the trans. or the rear end or brakes are locked up. or poss....
If the guide pin is still in the block you can put a prybar into fly-wheel teeth and against guide pin to hold crankshaft as you crank down on...
