Life would be easier with stock manifolds. That engine won't benefit much from headers anyway at that power level. Headers suck in these cars.
I think you can buy clear engine enamel. If you like the color clear over it.

Basically it's all about how much pressure they apply to the band. The factory used several different ones obviously some better than others....

You may also want to look at your intermediate servo and piston. Performance Automatic makes a nice upgrade.

Pour gas in the ports and check valve sealing. Did the valves have a lot of buildup?
