Here is the difference between a 351W with no modification to the shock tower: [IMG] And chopped towers with Crities headers (this is a 302):...
You don't have to cut the shock towers. Just set the engine in and use a crowbar between the shock towers and the exhaust manifold to help it...
What all did you do to it? If it ran fine before, maybe something you did is causing this. Greasemonkey has a good starting point.
Chop the shock towers. Replace the upper control arms. Replace the ragjoint. Check/re-tape your wiring harness Paint the engine bay. so many...
I would call Crites.
I'm planning to just use the copper gasket maker. I've heard good things about it.
I'm waiting to get a MIG welder. Once I have one, I'll pull the engine, shave the shock towers, and install them.
I think they look really good. Well made. The tubes are slip fit so they are loose. That is why one was sticking to the side.
The picture quality isn't the greatest.

Got the headers today. They look good. Crites did a great job. Only one issue. They weren't able to get them to fit with stock shock towers. They...
I think its fine. Just zip-tie/secure the wires away from the exhaust. You never want anything touching the Manifold. It gets really hot.
I would leave the power steering out. It will free up some room for a turbo.
Did you try letting it idle for a while and shifting through all of the gears?
The transmission issue doesn't sound related to the modulator. Can you manually shift thru the gears when you drive? As far as the vacuum port,...
If it isn't going into any gear, that sort of narrows down the possibilities. The one big change is the converter. What did the converter come...
Power brakes is a must. I converted my car to manual steering, and really enjoy driving it. Although, turning/parking etc. is a two hand operation.
I am right now just to be able to drive the car. The driver's side manifold hits the gearbox. I was able to grind it down a bit to make it work.
Nice! Glad it was a simple fix. Get a kick down rod/cable. You will love it.
