That is what I figured and I planned on sending all three as the cable has the tab instead of the pin like the early cables.

Would a 250 have that linkage? I have a few laying around.
If you do decide to change to another fuel pump the edelbrock one is good. I have been running mine now for 4 years and 15k miles later no issues...
I’m guess the exhaust is too close to the gas tank and causing it to heat up. I had the same issue on my 73 and did the same exact thing.

Nevermind looks like the price on amazon went way down... before it was around $30-$40 for that valve.
This was the best price on the vapor valve when I bought mine, it was much cheaper than everywhere else....
