The engine has already been set up correctly for a maverick, so it has the correct timing chain cover. I am also using a one piece oil pan gasket...

You can modify a 1996-2001? Explorer rear disk to fit.
You do not need it. It will run fine without it. The purpose of it is to bring cool air into the carburetor while driving.
