I am installing my new Locker rear end and gears this weekendbananaman :bananaman :bananaman sorry, a bit excited!) and was wondering what are you Mavs running for U-Joints? Anything aftermarket or just stock? I am putting in 4.11's with the ocker and drag radials(275) so I may finnaly get a LITTLE traction. With a 3000rpm stall I was wondering if the stock U-joints are adequate. Thanks Scott
I dont know whats in mine. When I had my driveshaft made I told the guy to make sure it would be good for 450hp knowing i would only be running around 300.
A good heavy duty Spicer ujoint will do the job....the strength is in the size....the 1350 is a common size on high horsepower drag cars....I think stock is like a 1310 or 1330......ideally as you step up in horsepower you should probably step up in size. My alulminum driveshaft came with 1330's I think, but I ended up using a 1330 to 1350 crossjoint in the rear because of the chromoly 1350 rear end yoke.
