alternator brackets

    well i've ran into a problem i can't seem to figure out where they go, i got the ford racing water pump brackets, did i get the wrong ones? or am i just missing the mounting locations?

    Two 1973 LDO Mavericks (one 4 Drag one 4 driving like Mad on the roads :) ) also have a 75 6cyl Stock! Ok, well sort of Stock :P
    many water pumps have differant mounting holes depending on the year. that bracket you got, it might be for a later waterpump.

    it looks like the right pump to me. and your alternator goes where i see a bolt that you already installed. the one that is nearest to the passenger fender is the one where the alternator bracket should mount to.

    the top alternator bolt goes into the head correct?
    maverick man could you repost that picture and circle the bolt holes that i need?

    The alternate brackets do NOT bolt directly to the head. There is another peice that bolts to the head first ... then you bolt the alternator bracket to that. I'm at work and don't have a picture handy ... I'm sure somebody does ...

    right, but the atl side does and it uses is an alum spacer about 1 inch thick...

    when i get back home i'll try to shoot a picture or do what you asked... but dan will probably beat me to it since he's on a differant time zone.

    btw is here a photo of what the bracket you should be using should look like... this is on a I6 but it is the same bracket just upside down

    oh yeah i forgot.. all that aftermarket stuff never fits.. you have to get spacers or washes to get them to line up.

    so the top bolt on the alternator goes there? or the other holes?

    yes and thats where the spacers goes too between the alternator and that mount on the head
