I decided to keep a spare of all my V8 stick-shift linkage parts just in case of an emergency. I ordered the V8 repop z-bar from Auto-Krafters about 9 months ago ... and it finally showed up today. I'm pretty sure these things are built to order .... and I'm pretty sure the one currently on my car (also a repop) did not have the Ford Offically Licensed Product on it ... I guess ford really is serious about making money off repop parts ...

EDIT ... I just notice the Maverick Connection is listing them on eBay ... and says he has 99 of them ...

AK is just a middle man for anything it sells, MC too, so the thing to do might be to find out where they are sourcing the stuff.
Get much cheaper prices that way.
Most everything they sell, the maker identity surfaces sooner or later...

Since Jamie is working in a machine shop now, maybe he could make some repops too. Did you get both pieces or just the one in the pic?

It's a two-peice z-bar ... just like original ... The bolt in the center is holding both halves together ...

I guess if I had looked a little harder I would have noticed it was put together. Just looking at it, I don't think it would be too hard to reproduce if you had the proper machinery. Oh yeah, mothballs should keep the rats outta the garage, that is, the 4 legged kind..:rofl2:

Frank just likes to bust my chops because my Grabber spends more time under a car cover in my garage than anywhere else ...

Yea, when you make them as nice as your car, it makes driving them to much or on less than perfect days some what stressful. Takes part of the fun out of it. That's why everybody should build 3 mavericks. A show car that sees very little use if any at all, a nice street car that can get some normal wear an tear. Last but not least the Drag car that can get beat as hard as it will take before it breaks. Only to be fixed and repeated as seen fit. That's the direction I am taking and so should all maverickers IMO:) Even if it takes me till the end of my days to realize this feat/dream.

    If I had a 3-car garage ... I'd have a show, a go and a driver ... Since I only have a 2-car garage ... I have a show and a driver ...

You know....I might have to buy one of those to see how hard it is to build one. It just looks so.......puny.
