Will they fit? YES but you better be willing to make them fit!

First let me state that I don’t have stock shock towers, I’ve already done the shock tower mod and it may make a difference in how these headers mount up.
If you want the short story then have your car in the air high enough to slide the headers in from the bottom your motor ready to be lifted in and out that least 5 times and then all you’ll need is a BFH and a grinder.
If you don’t know what a BFH is then read another post because you don’t want to do this mod.
This is going to be a long post with a lot of pictures and I’m going to do my best to help all others in their attempts to add these headers to their car so please don’t get angry with all the pictures.
Shock tower mod... here is the shock tower mod with the shelby mod if you look at the A-arm bolts you can see the old bolt holes just above them.

Here you will see the spots on the headers that you will need to cover until you have all you mods made, like beating your firewall and yes I did say beating!
Drivers side! the spots covered in black duck tape is where your headers are going to hit. Pix # 1

Here are the spots on the driver’s side that will need to be removed and DON’T do unless you are sure you want to because I make no claims that what I do will work for you.
First you will need to either remove the motor or rise it high enough to beat (and I hate that word but it’s what you have to do) the firewall in so the bend In the # 8 tube will fit!

You will also need to grind off part of the motor mount on the drivers side, This will be the part that's at the back of the motor... see pix! You will need to remove a good 1/4 inch where it's brown in the pix.

    Now for the scary part.
You are going to have to grind some of your gearbox off so the # 6 tube doesn’t hit or rest against it.
You could always ding your headers here but then way buy bigger headers? Once again do this only if you have the experience to do so, I have all the necessary tools and have been doing things like this for 30 years.

You will also need to take just a little off the top side of the gearbox. Sorry you can't see it here but it's just on the other side of the top bolt.

Here is what the # 6 tube looks like, it lays right against the gearbox and I'm sure this would rub a hole into the header in no time.

It has taken two days to complete this header install but I had do to it right.

After lifting the motor up at least 20 times for testing I finally got the headers to fit without rubbing.
What you will need is a lot of patience and some tools that you might not have.
Tool # 1 brains, get someone else to do this!
Ok if you have decided to do this mod yourself then we will go to #2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 but before that I will say this if you do this mod and don’t have your shock towers cut back you will be cussing more then I did.
Tool # 2 big hammer! You are going to need this.
    Tool # 3 grinder
    Tool # 4 cutting torch
    Tool # 5 welder.
Tool # 6 last but not least more patience.
Expect your headers to get scratched by all the testing, that really sucks but there’s nothing you can do about it.
I’ve been doing things like this since I was 16 and this was one of the worst mods I have ever done. Here are some of the pix as I was working.

Both sides are a bitch, to do the drivers side if you haven't removed the shifting arm that comes from the steering column then do that first. If you are still using your tree shifter then start thinking about a nice floor shifter to go with this mod.
Right under the back turn down of the #7 tube is where your stock shifter lever is, see pix.

Passenger side is a piece of cake… Yeah right! Plan on cutting, beating, and grinding on both the firewall and the frame. The firewall you just need to ding it back a good bit to make the clearance you need but the frame had to be modified for the # 4 tube so header will go on.
Now I know the guys who have installed these headers on the 302 had to use spacers plates so that the headers didn’t hit the bell housing but for the 351W with it’s much taller deck height makes matters much worse.
Now you have to remove part of your frame to get the header to bolt up. See the next two pix.
    From below without header.

Well I cleaned that up before I installed the header for the 12th time. Here is a pix from above with the header in, you can start to see all those scratches I was talking about.
