some said no way in hell.. others said well maybe but... others said why? well because its possiable! :D

the guy that been doing some of my families exaust systems did it!

its 2-1/2 to a 2-1/2 X-pipe (a Tru-X pipe from Mangaflow.. shameless plug) to 3 inch mandrel bends to Mangaflow (another shamelss plug!) stainless steel muffers to up and over with 3 inches over the axle out the rear behind the tires. all with no mods to rearend or gas tank! the only mod was redoing the path of the fuel line out of the tank. did i say Mangaflows?

and incase your wondering about why 3 inches after the x pipe?... well the dyno runs we did at work proved best with that set up on a small block ford pushing between 300 and 380 or so to the wheels check it out in one of last years car crafts.. sorry forgot what month. :D

and thanks for the guys lastnight who sent me pics of there exaust.

    yep.

I got over my axle with 3" too.
I went all the way out the back but had to go between the spring and the frame on the drivers side to do it.
I'll be redooing it at some point before too long and I'll either dump behind the tires or do the mustang tank or fuel cell swap and go straight out the back again.
No pics. These pipes, while functional are waaay too ugly to show off!:p

Those Magnaflow tips are pricey. Did you get them complementary?

er uh? sponsorship....so yeah i guess you could say so.... very nice people to work with! however just means another freakin sticker on the window!

the x pipe is made very good though! the muffers are a bit too quite for me even with the 3 inch piping .... but if anyone is looking for quite.. this set up is the way to go!

hum you know your stuff! but yes and no... he didn't have 40k to buy a mandrel tube bender, so i got all the pipes prebent mandrels. they make them in all differant sizes and pre-bent-shape.. did i say Magnaflow has them...(i bet i got already 10 people to visit their website already) lol ... nah but summit, jegs, walker, carries them too.

as you probably already know with 3 inches most muffer shops won't want to touch this over the axle job. most benders wont do that kind of bend with out it kinking it! or at least with that nice of a transition.
