This car was at the Year One show last weekend ... didn't get a chance to talk to him ... It's a Torino scoop grafted onto a Maverick hood ....
Too cool! thanks for the pic.Im' trying to figure out what to do with my hood.Have a few Ideas drawn up,just havent tried to screw it up yet...I mean cut it up.If I dont like it Ill get a CF grabber hood...(its a good excuse to buy one anyhoo)
That's interesting. I'd like to see it from different angles. Maybe it's someone who will show up here eventually.
Looks sharp! I wonder if anyone has tryed to use a "shaker" scoop. How about a yellow and black '71 BOSS 302 Maverick with a shaker scoop. Ford could have easily done this as the BOSS 351 Mustang took over in '71.
I had a 71 Ranchero with that scoop. It comes with a sheet of black plastic behind the grille of the scoop to block it off. All you do is take the plastic out, and it's functional. Anyway, my point... I made mine functional and it was so open that rain would soak the air filter and kill the engine. Sometimes rain would also get in the distributor. Something about the shape and/or placement of that scoop that makes it really sensitive to weather.
That's pretty neat. I like it. It looks like a decent '72, now all the guy needs to do is apply his skills to the dash pad!
