Mine is mounted to the bracket that the tank straps hook to in front of the tank.

Those are the leaf springs on the driver side to the left, tank to the right. It is bolted to the frame rail. I put it as low as I could so it would not cavitate once the tank got low. If I go below 1/8 tank, it will still cavitate and will quadruple in volume. Sort of a safety backup warning sound, I guess...

Mine is mounted behind the rear on the metal shield behind the fuel tank.

Does it matter if the Holley is mounted with the rounded puart up or down? Might be where my noise is coming from...

remember....electric pumps push....so the closer to the tank/cell the better.
mine is mounted directly behind the fuel cell outlet.

Mine is right at the tank outlet as well. Along with the canister filter.

What would happen if I mounted it down from here and put it so the wide part of the pump was below the lip of the tank, and I mounted it to the leaf spring?

The rubber leaf-spring bushings should absorb most (if not all) of the vibration and noise, and as the car bounces up and down, it should clear the fuel tank.

Is there a lot of side to side motion when driving that would cause it to possibly hit the lip of the tank?

This would also put the inlet to the pump BELOW the level of the tank outlet, so there would be plenty of gravity feed to the pump.

Something like this...Just leave a good size length of hose for movement up and down. I would have to make a bracket to let me mount it, then use some kind of strap so I am not putting holes in the spring.

Scott, I mounted it where you did, but it looks a little different. I'll get a pic up later today. I'll be out back sand blasting my diff and other parts so I will crawl under there and see where else might look good but it would require some plumbing.
    The shackles idea is funny...

If this doesn't work, I will make a drop-down bracket to bring it down about 4" from where it is in the first picture, mounted to the frame rail.

I am just holding it there in the second picture and all my original plumbing is there. I would swap to AN fittings and braided hose when I move it. There is about 12" of extra tubing in this picture.
