What do you guys think about me making a topic and you guys can post your VIN, I'll organize them and put them in order and see if we can find some sister cars...I read an article in a magazine about 10 years ago where 2 people had cars that was build right next to each other....102746 and 102745...they lived 1,600 miles away and met at a car show, I figured its be pretty cool if we could find something like that here...lol

Sounds good to me! im in.... but some people dont like to post their VINs for several reasons. and my car is rare also :D....i wish! 5k91f196984 i think they made less 75s than any other year...mine was v8 AC/heat dual sport mirrors. Also the color code on the door tag is wrong it says 3M but im almost 99.9% sure that its 3B and i know that ford made mistakes all the time back then.

No, they start with #100001. The first car has to be one because one=1st. If they started with zero then zero=0 which is none

Okay, see if anybody can beat this:
    71 Grabber - 1K93F183792
    71 Grabber - 1K93F183797

I own both of these cars. The 1st one I bought in 1974, 2nd one 30 years later. Both factory v8 cars. The 1st one Grabber green, 2nd one is my Grabber blue one. Being that these sequence numbers were used for all Ford cars there is a good possibility these two cars were back to back on the assembly line...definitely very close if not. :)

Thanks for fixing me up on that guys. I will correct it in the post.(y)

But, what does the 1 stand for? Is it just a place holder? So they don't start with 000,001?

If Im not mistaken recreational vehicles used the 000,001 - 099,999 production numbers, where normal vehicles started at 100,000

Typically for the 11 digit VIN numbers from F-L-M, the consecutive numbers start with:

100001 is the number for Ford cars.
500001 is the number for Mercury cars.
800001 is the number for Lincoln cars.
