Since the other thread is getting too long to sort through: 17th Annual Texas Thunder FFW Nationals Houston Raceway Park, Baytown, Texas May 5, 2007 That is Tomorrow! Since we aren't going to have many Mavericks, it will be hard to locate everyone! We had no objections to paying $35 to get into the pits, so lets meet in the pits area at 9 AM. I was going to suggest to the far right as you enter there is a grassy area, it might be cooler over there. (I am going to try to get there before 9 AM, but the 185 mile trip makes it hard to pinpoint my arrival time). You can call me at (512) 217-1115 on my cell to locate me. Also, Rick Book will be in the pit area somewhere with his red 1970 Maverick. I will try and keep him informed as to where we will be located. See you there!!
my cell is 979-487-5845, we will try to get there early as well. Black convertible mustang, most likely with the top down, in case you are looking for us... I will try to find Rick if he is there early. Oh, and THANKS for starting a new thread with the info on it.
I called TRACK INFORMATION and they told me that they are charging $50.00 per car and driver, any extra person they charge $25.00 each. Houston Raceway Park 2525 FM 565 South Baytown, TX 77520 Phone:281-383-RACE Fax:281-383-3777 Website:www.houstonraceway.com
I don't plan to enter my car. Mine isn't a contender. (Also, I really don't approve of the voting based on popular vote like FFW does). See you all! (I didn't have time to wash mine anyway)! lol Don't let us discourage you from entering your own car, though! I'm anxious to see it.
Isn't that how they did it in Waco??? That was the only way I won anything. My car is definitely NOT a show car, but it has much personality...it is a "touch and feel, get in and let's go for a drive" car, not a "look, don't touch, while I polish the bumper" kind of car. I think people like to touch and get personal with cars. I will never win at any non-popular vote shows...
Pictures of FFW Four cars, 7 people, and two Mavericks on the dragstrip. We had a great time! More pictures later.
Sorry we left early, guys, and missed the pictures...Anna (my fair-skinned, red-head wife) got too much sun early on. We dropped the convert top and "cruised" out of the parking lot, then put the top back up for the ride home...had to look cool on our departing Had a great time, met a couple of new people, looks like we left before another couple showed up. Next year, Anna is bringing a hat to keep the sun off of her, then we can stay longer. Next year, we are bringing our Maverick also...
