Tuesday got to do some Dyno runs on my 399 stroker! This is a pump fuel engine 10.4 compression with out of the box Victor jr heads! After a few runs we determined that the Performer RPM air gap intake was a major restriction!
So we put a 2 inch open spacer to help it breathe a little better...it helped but the signal is so strong that it really needs the Victor jr intake so it has been ordered! We ran it at 32 timing and got...Torque 500 and Horsepower 501!
I am happy with these numbers and figure 30-50 more hp with the intake upgrade!

    Great numbers!

What's the thickness of, (or I suppose I should ask how thin are), your cylinder walls, now?

still over .240 they were sonic checked before the build...wanted to keep it safe and below 600hp thats why that intake was used!

    Nice numbers.
What cam did you use and are those the headers that are going in the car?
Where was the peak HP and TQ and where was the AFR?
I really like working with the dyno, but for ease of getting to the motor an engine dyno sure makes things easier.......................wish I would have had more dyno time....................next time.

31-609-5 Mechanical CompCam...peak torque was 4400rpm peak hp was 5900 rpm AF ratio was 12.3
we made 8 pulls plus the breakin and valve spring change after the breakin total 7hrs
only wish i had the Vic jr with me...I do now!!
Still have not figured out the header problem yet...

Yes, they do make some TQ, on the dyno mine was 406@3500, 495@4500,
538@5500 and 500@6700, it actually started going down at 5700 where it peaked at 542.
    Got to love stroker motors!

those are good numbers...what intake is on it? I am on pump fuel too so could see better numbers with race fuel but cost factor is high!

Our motors are similar, but different. I'm using "Ole School" Roush/Yates Mod'd TF-R Twisted Wedge with a Super Victor Jr., mod'd 850 by the Carb Shop, and 13.5:1 CR. I was running Sunoco Premium which is 112. My headers look a little shorter than yours.........mine is a 408 with 6.25 rods.
With your CR I'm not sure the HP with race fuel would warrant the cost which is $13.40 per gallon. If you buy in bulk it gets alot cheaper, around $10 per gallon.
So the HP on mine was 640@6800 and TQ 542@5700. We just did break in, set the valves and made about a dozen pulls to get it close..........timing was best at 34.

The old motor had a little different cam and close to 15:1CR. This is basically the same motor with different block/cam/and we cut about 1.5points from the pistons............to bring the CR down just a little.
The headers on (are the ones on the dyno) are 1-3/4 step'd to 1-7/8. The heads and headers are about 20 years old.
Here is the thread with a short video of the motor on the dyno, we pull'd
623HP at 6600rpm..........I think this was 7 or 8 out 12 that we did.
