I said I would post pics when I got to it. Well I finally got to it, I moved the front mounts forward. I made brackets that 'sister' the factory ones but extend further forward. The factory mounting brackets have three holes in them the center hole became the rearward mounting hole and the outer two became plug welds. And it is spot welded on the flanges, and welded the full length in the bottom. I haven't driven it hard enough to really feel a difference, but I think its a little flatter, I could be hoping that it made a difference, but at the very least, I feel better that the end links are upright instead of leaning backwards.

First pic is the before, second is the brackets I made, third is the upright endlinks, and fourth is a top view of the brackets. Might not be pretty, but seems to be effective. Only one problem I might have, the sway bar is very close to the strut rod, not touching but very close, I don't know how much the strut rods will travel, they may touch under hard cornering, I'll find out at some point.

Seems like an awful lot of trouble instead of just getting the proper sized sway-bar, but to each his own...

I haven't seen a 1 1/8th inch sway bar made for a Maverick. This was what I thought was my best solution to my minor problem. With the end links leaning backwards, I don't think I was getting the full benefits out of the front bar. Wasn't really a lot of work, but the lift at work wasn't lifting so it was a little more of a pain than it should've been, but still not the biggest project I had to do to the car.

1-1/8"? What vehicle is it from?

And yes, ADDCO custom-makes swaybars to any diameter you want. So does Saner Performance...

    Thanks Maverick Man.

I did call ADDCO, and all I got was B.S., saying they dont do that, and they cant help me, etc. They gave me some other guys number, who I could always get a hold of his answer machine, never returned my calls. I got pissed and dicouraged, but I did try to get the right size sway bar. I did the next best thing, to get the diameter I wanted. Thanks for the info.

    Nice job

I also ran into the same problem trying to find a larger sway bar.My brackets are a little different,I left the original and added to the front with another. One thing you might want to watch for is stress cracks on your lower control arms. After a while the thin metal that they are formed from will weaken.I re-inforced mine with an additional piece of 10 gauge metal around the hole that the sway bar link attaches.Very easy to do,you might want to consider boxing in the bottom of the control arm also. The larger bar will put more stress on the arm during hard cornering.
I also put adjustable links on from AAPD.These give you the ability to do a little more tuning to the front suspension. They are only $44.95 plus shipping.
    Again,good job

that bites,.... back when i had mine done the tech guy was really helpful and more than willing to help get what I was wanting.never can tell soemtimes with calling places for info or parts, sometimes it seems its a matter of the draw. you either get someone that actually knows things and will help , or someone thats just "there"

Thanks for the line on adj. links, and the compliment. As far as the lower control arms go, they are already boxed in, I'm not sure of the reinf. around the end link hole. Thanks again
