1968 Ford Fairlane, 1.7 60, 8.09, dunno the trap yet. 289 bored to 292 (.030? don't remember) Comp Cams 270H Sick Holley 650DP Edel Air Gap intake AFR 165 heads 1.7 roller rockers 10:1 compression 1 5/8 6901 Hooker headers C4 with 4000 stall converter 3.8 rear 4 door Ford Fairlane that hasn't been stripped and the linkage was screwed so it only opened up about 3/4 throttle.
i am going to guess this is an 1/8th mile time... seeing as how i dont see how that would be possible in the 1/4 on that setup thats a sweet time though... i wish i was that fast
yea, sorry, eighth mile. he weighed the car last night after I posted, 3220lbs with him in the car. He went from an 8.76 best to 8.09 with a 4000 stall converter. Blows the tires at launch tho, he's learning the car over again.
Still really good numbers, especially on that small a cubes. I wonder what a 4000 stall would do for me. I lose so much just getting off the line.
That high of a stall would kill your times. Performer Plus cam doesn't pull high enough. Half the people I've talked to about this setup says we can't turn 6700rpms with that cam, the car weighs 3800lbs, 2000rpm stall, etc. Those heads make one hell of a difference. I still wouldn't have gotten a 4000 stall myself, but damn if it doesn't kick ass. It pulls good to 6700, smokes the slicks over, runs better time than we ever expected, all that and the throttle won't open past 3/4.
