Hey, I have the same Chevy 1-wire, with the jumper, but it only charges at 12-12.5...it should be 14, shouldn't it? Did I do something wrong? They tested it at the shop and said it was just fine.

Might it be because I have it running all the way back to the trunk to charge the battery?

Scott, you might be checking it at idle. I'd see if it registers the same at higher rpms. If so, you might consider a smaller diameter pulley to turn the alt faster at idle rpm.

I'm getting good numbers at idle with an UNDERDRIVE pulley.

f.y.i. I've attached a picture of the Infamous Jumper.

    What do you think...?

I bought the jumper with a red and white wire already attached to a plug that fits on the two flat blades (only fits one way with a little notch). The white I have attached to the ALT light at the dash, and the red is the jumper.

It appears that you are jumping to the other blade??? Am I seeing that right (mine is shot from under the car)? It looks like you are jumping from the post to the closest blade.

Also, appears to have a larger wire...wonder if THAT is my problem?

Runs a consistent 12-12.5 at all rpms. I AM running an electric fan and fuel pump, but those shouldn't affect the charging.

Instead of a jumper you should probably run a sense wire back to the battery. That way the regulator "knows" to supply full voltage to the battery.

So, extend the red "jumper" all the way back and not to the post? Seems like it wouldn't know the difference where it is connected...

That's the purpose of the remote wire, to let the regulator read what the voltage is "back there". Right now it's reading optimum voltage at the alternator terminal and thinks everything is fine. Your long battery cable/connections are probably dropping some voltage but the regulator isn't being informed.
