Smile A solution to a strange problem

Well, it's spring again and they are back. Those screwed up robins who feel they must 'decorate' the side of my 76' Maverick. Ok, the car isn't much to look at right now, but come on! Every spring for the past 3 years these "s**t birds find a way to perch on the car door and attack their reflections in the window and mirror, all the while ' repainting' the side of the car. It's actually kind of funny to see them freaking out at their own reflections, but the mess is unreal. Putting a bag over the mirror did'nt help. They just went after the window then. I finaly figured out a way to discourage them. I cut out a life size picture of a cat, taped it to some cardboard and proped it up inside the car against the window. It worked! They now stay away from my Maverick and are now working over my neighbors Cavalier. The cars a POS anyway, so it blends right in.

My good cars stay inside but I have a problem with cats walking on my outside cars. I tried leaning a baseball against the side of the car but they didn't take the hint. Time to start trapping them again.

my dads friend bought a new honda s2000, and quickly got paranoid and upset when all the cats in the neighborhood started jumping onto his convert top claws first, then napping on it.

he solved the problem by taking a big sheet of cardboard and affixing some kind of nail strip to the entire bottom part of the cardboard. THe nails stick through the cardboard and stick out, straight up. He uses bungi cords and straps it to his roof when he parks it.

Any cat who jumps on the roof is going to get a not-so-pleasant surprise. Said it has worked like charm so far.

Note--the nails are very close together, and very small, so any effect will just be a stinging kind of feeling, too close together to be able to actually puncter the animals feet

Hey Rudy...

you need to be more specific! I guess what I mean is: Make sure Dennis knows to wait until the cat gets OFF the car before he tries to shoot it!!!

I used to have a major cat problem around here so I borrowed a muskrat trap from a friend. Caught over a dozen cats in as many days. problem was solved for a long time but its looking like its time to start trapping again.

Well, a guy who likes cats would probably turn them over to Animal Control, I hate cats. Enough said.
