8.8 Axle swap?

    I have a 8.8 explorer axle with 3.73 limited sliip.It is about 1 inch wider than than my 76 8".Any reason this wouldnt work in my 76 comet?

    Do a search, the pinion is way off center

    I found nothing on search,however am just learning site.What effects from off center pinion angle?Thanks,Dave

    First thing that I would think of is that the pinion won't be centered in your tunnel so there would be, at least, a driveshaft issue :hmmm:

    My 1970 Maverick have a 8.8 rearend from a 1989 mustang gt, i swaped the 5 speed T-5 also. i have no issues with that because the driveshaft is also from the mustang. i didnt need to cut it, or make any mods to it.

    the drive shaft will be angled towards the passenger side of the car. it may interfear with the exhast and tunnel. it has been done. just be aware of that one problem.
