After four months of hard work, the Mav is almost track ready. Get small stuff tidyed up and set the four link for basics then the front end aligned. Summary, backhalfed with four link, MII front end and discs all way around. 351W with powerglide trans, approx 550hp. Mavman did almost all the work himself, with a little help from me. Pics will follow.

Thanks guys, this car has been raced for about 12 years now. won many points championships and overall champs a couple times, with a 302. Went to a 393 and could not get any traction with 10.5 slicks. Blew the engine and went back to a 351 and still no bite, thats when the decision was made to go backhalf and MII to get larger tires and headers. ran low 6's in 1/8th and had 1.40 60fts on the 10.5. Hope this improves with the 31.5 14's on there now. Hate to admit it, but the paint job was done for a 100.00 and we bought the paint 11 years ago. And those who recognize it, Corvette Yellow, of some early year. Needs a redo someday but for now will concentrate on getting it a bit faster down the track. Just for info, up until this resto job, it ran three leaf rear springs with homemade cal-tracs and worked great with the 302 but 351 torque was to much for the small tires.

Lordy, that carb is big enough to soak your feet in!

we can't complain that the carb isn't big enough. Brother borrowed my 830 annular Holley, and I love the instant throttle response of the Dominator (makes for effortless and consistent launches), so we traded. The bad part is he doesn't know how to tune a Holley, or any carb for that matter...the last time he tried the 1050 on his mild 302, he put 68 jets in it. That's about 30 sizes smaller than they come with from the factory, and I run 92's. But, I said nothing...I just wanted the carb LOL.

The "soak your feet" comment was funny. My size 15's won't fit in there, but a girl I used to go out with could probably soak hers in it. It was funny....I'm 6'4", she was 4'10". What's wrong with that picture??
