Normal RPM at idle.

    What should the rpms be set to at idle? Right now my car is idling at 1,000 This is a 79 ford 302 5.0

    I noticed you said in gear. If I have it in drive it should be around 600-800 and if its in park it should idle higher since im out of gear correct? Just trying to get the last things setup before I test drive it.

    It should idle as low as possible and not stall in gear.

    I think I might have the dist too far advanced. I will check that when I get home as well.

    I change the dist a little bit and now its idling around 800-850 in park and 600-700 in gear. So I guess im where it needs to be.
