other than air shocks whats options do i have for lifting the rear of the car??? dont wanna spent too much money let me know thanks
I have a "kit" for sale. http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=40613&highlight=jack-it-up Picture is long gone...but I can email you another one.
Decades ago I added a couple leafs from a junk yard station wagon, the rear of the car was up around my chest, and I'm 6'6". LOL. A chassis and suspension shop can re-arch your existing springs. If they get it too high you can add lowering blocks to dial it in.
I put a set of general springs 4 leaf in my 71 and it sits way up... I have at least 5" from the top of my 255/60/15 to the wheel lip... I'm going to put lowering blocks in... I don't know how much lift you need... The 71 sits higher with these springs than my 74 did with air shocks...lol
If you want pictues of the result of adding one leaf to each rear spring, PM me. The lip is about 2-3" above the top of the 235/60/15s.
They came from a Granada but it was in the 80s so I'm sure they hadn't had a chance to sag much. It was so high the shocks were maxed out. before with Granada leaf springs
lift kits are sold at any autoparts store for $15-20 They are adjustable rear shackles, just jack up your car, and unbolt the shackles and replace with the adjustable set. http://www.autozone.com/autozone/ac...i&fromString=search&itemIdentifier=540393_0_0_
the only way to correctly lift a mavericks rear end is with leaf springs. if you do it will air shocks or a spring kit for the shocks you are putting a load on the top shock mounts that they were never designed to take. it will eventually damage the shock mounts longer shackles will increase the leverage on the frame rail and can twist the frame rail. they also allow allot of side to side sway in the rear end of the car that can cause unsafe driving conditions. you can make your own springs. goto the salvage yard and pull a pair of springs that 2.5" wide out of a truck. bring them home and take them apart. now take your stock maverick springs apart. take the top spring for the truck and cut the eyes off of it. put that spring under the stock maverick spring. now you be creative in stacking the different leafs that you have to create different ride heights and stiffness.
oh also you will want to put longer shocks in also. the nissan truck shocks are longer and have the correct mounting.
