Will they go on a 1972 Grabber ? My buddy has some he is not using. I see on the interchange guide the upper a-frames are the same ? Thoughts?
These?? Yes they'll work but you'll need to use the '72 bearings & races. Possibly the '72 tie rod pins will be too large .
Nope, I'm 99% were used with 14"... They were also used on '67 Fairlane, I don't remember seeing one of those with 15". With required brackets, fit the std drum brake spindle. There was a version used on full size Ford & Mercury, AFAIK those are larger.
OK I was thinking maybe the whole spindle off the Mustang bolted right in ? You are talking about taking the mustang caliper and rotor and putting it on a maverick disc brake spindle I guess? I have drums at the moment.
No I'm talking about bolting the '67 disc brakes to any newer drum spindle.. For '66 & '67 drum & disc spindles were same, beginning '68 disc spindles became different. As far as backing plate bolt pattern, drum spindles were same '66-'75. You can use the Mustang spindle, will save switching bearings. From '66, Fairlane, Torino, Falcon, Mustang, Ranchero, etc spindles all can be swapped to Maverick. Includes UCA as well as LCA. In spite of popular belief, many parts can interchange. I know someone that owns a '69 Mach 1 that has '75 Granada brakes. As far as individual brake parts, there are three separate disc units, '66/'67(ONLY one that can use drum spindle). '68-'71 Falcon, Torino & plus mustang thru '73, and the Granada/Maverick units. For '68-up disc, spindle must match brakes. The Torino/Mustang is different from Maverick/Granada I have '69 Torino disc brakes on my Comet.
OK I did not think the 67 Mustang brakes would go on the 72 Maverick drum spindle. Thanks for clarifying that. I will probably use them, because it will be super easy to do.
