i got a set of 1969 cougar taillights and was wondering if anybody had some advise for cutting/drilling/installing. and also the taillights have a little tab on the inner side of each "cage" of the light, i think for a connecting center piece, can i just cut that off? http://www.google.com/imgres?q=1969+...w=1094&bih=593
Depends on the finish you want. In my opinion they look best if you swap over a Shelby tail panel. http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=82146 http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=9899 http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=60517 http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=50932
I think there are some cars around here that have them, but I can't remember who? I have a set of 69 Cougar lights that came with a car I bought, I kinda mocked them up, but it wasn't the look I was going for.
I have a set of 69 Cougar lights. I was looking at installing the complete set including the flip down door. But didn't care for the look once mocked up. They stuck out way to far
I just thought just the lenses were different between Tbird/shelby and cougar? But the rest was the same, Oh well. I still think the installation information is very relevant.
1967 Shelby Mustangs used 1967-68 Cougar lenses. 1968-70 Shelby Mustangs & 1968 Mustang GT/CS's used 1965 Thunderbird tail lights.
