the back wheels are off a 2012 hyndai genesis r spec, they are 19x 9s in the back and the front where 19x8.5
So I was in a work related vehicle accident in November and the army has decided I am disabled and I am being medically retired :/ There was spine damage but at least I can still walk, Anyway next month I am moving back to northern California and my first goal is to buy a fox body 5.0 to gut. Hope ill be able to work on my car soon.
I am moving up to Chico (about an hour north of Sac) I cant wait to have some time to really work on my car again so I guess its not all bad.
I noticed you mentioned about getting a maverick hood for it, I have one in excellent condition and has no rust or dents or dings at all, if your interested, wanna trade? I'm looking for a comet hood for my maverick lol
So I moved a couple of days ago, when all my stuff gets here ill post some pics, I got my maverick hood fitted today.
so I have been gone for a while, I just finished moving and only unpacked my computer today! here is a picture of my car with the new hood, Next week i am panning on getting a new rear end so the rear tires stop sticking out so much. I have started working on a set of custom gauges, Anyone on here familiar with arduino? I am still prototyping and programming but my plan is to use digital sensors and have them all run to analog servo motors in my gauges, making them more accurate. I am planning on using the 1.3 inch oled to display temp and oil pressure if anyone has any questions about programming or anything I will be more than happy to help.
Right now she has the stock rear end, she has wheel adapters the have 5 lug wheels on it, that's why the tires stick out. I sold my motorcycle today so hopefully soon i can get a new rear end and shorten it. Also I am looking into a mustang 2 front suspension swap. I have been working on my gauges a bit more and this is kinda what I am going for. I plan on replacing the idiot lights with rgb leds (that way I can have them be green for nominal and change to red as temps rise or oil pressure drops.) When i get everything sorted I will release the coding so if anyone else wants to make a gauge cluster they can.
Today I moved the tires in a few inches, I am still tinkering with my gauge setup, and yes she does need a wash pretty badly.
the mustang 2 suspension came in today so i guess its time for a proper teardown, Ill be sure to take pictures. I will be selling the granada spindles and disc brakes soon if anyone is in the market for em.
Now the fun begins. Some of the parts that came in. Today i remove the wiring and begin the pressure wash and dissassembly of the old suspension,
So first I started pulling the fenders hood bumpers and everything. Next it was time to remove the suspension, steering box and crossmember. Then I started cutting the spot welds on the shock towers. I have already measured the centerline for the wheels and removed the motormount area, over the next couple of days i will sand the engine bay and prepare for a bit of welding. I took out the trans because the stock motor is not going back in.
I need to take more pictures! I have been doing a but of rust removal, patched an area of the door that was rusty and put that back together today (I really need to take before pictures next time.) Tomorrow I finish welding in the crossmember and start hanging the suspension. Motor mounts and tilt column are on the way as well as some other misc stuff.
