This weekend I started work on restoring my dad's old 72 Comet. This is my first project car and I will be learning as I go. It's a stock 302 V2, my dad was the original owner. It has been sitting since 1992. After I drain and replace all the fluids, spark plugs, belts, cables, battery...anything esle I shoud do before trying to start it? What's the horse power on a stock 72 Comet with a 302?

Might want to do the radiator hoses and gas filter also. Oil filter and oil unless you included that in the fluids. Good luck. My Chilton's manual says net HP for 72 was 143.
